I took a school trip to Russia in 1990, back when it was still the Soviet Union. There were hardly any stores at the time, so we had to bring American goods like t-shits and cigarettes to trade for Russian paraphernalia! That trip remains one of the most interesting I’ve ever taken, though I’m sure the Russia of today is much different than it was back then. I’d love to go back and see what it’s like today.
