Hi Ceejay, yes you get all your guides at the tourism office. You can register there soon as you arrive. And no problem with wifi. Wifi signals are good in Sagada. Have fun! πŸ™‚

Last question (sorry), can I roam around sagada by myself? I mean without any tour guide and all because sympre dun tayo sa mas nakakatipid πŸ™‚ hehe

most of the spots in sagada require and is best enjoyed by walking. a guide is required for the caves, pongas falls, bumud-ok falls at sa mga malalayong spots.

Ceejay, Yes you can roam around alone except for the caves. You need a guide other wise, di ka makakalabas haha

    Hi JB,

Can we go to sagada via car? I mean we are willing to bring our car, please advise if that is possible.

  8. JB Macatulad at 8:41 pm

Hi Floriemay, we’ve never personally driven there but you can. Best to go in a powerful enough car like an SUV. Have a safe trip. πŸ™‚

  9. JB Macatulad at 8:54 pm

Hi John Paul, it depends. If you’re only staying overnight, then 1k should be enough. I suggest bringing at least 2k though just in case. Mahirap maubusan ng pera doon. πŸ™‚ Have fun!

I think this is the most helpful blog I have read so far, thank you so much for the tips and guides, we are planning to go there kase on April.

I suggest that Pungas Falls be visited also. It is a wonderfull falls located at barangay Ankileng south of Sagadafollowing the road from Sumaguing Cave. Take note that the said spot can only be reached by walking. It’s a safe place. Only what you need to do is to keep the area clean.

  12. JB Macatulad at 1:01 pm

Thanks for sharing David! We’re looking to go back to Sagada soon so I’ll keep Pungas Falls in mind. πŸ™‚

    Hi Floriemay (and all :D),

Did you push thru with your trip and bringing your own car?
We’re also planning to go to Sagada on our own (driving up ourselves) this April, but we’re just a bit worried about the road conditions and safety of driving from Manila to Sagada and back.
Hope someone would be able to reply to my concern.

    Thank you πŸ™‚

  15. JB Macatulad at 10:01 pm

Hi Khian Jane, as long as the tourist center is open then yes, I think there will be guides. Regarding your other questions, you can refer to the VIA BANAUE and HOW MUCH MONEY TO BRING sections of this guide for more information. Hope that helps and enjoy Sagada! πŸ™‚

  17. JB Macatulad at 7:59 am

Sorry James, hindi ko pa nagagawa yan so hindi ko alam. But based on what I’ve read, baka mahirapan yung Honda City. 1.5L yung makina?

  18. Jester at 6:43 am

Hello JB! This post is very informative. We are leaving Manila at 10 PM tonight straight to Sagada. I can’t contain my excitement. Kind regards, Jester

  21. Joel Babatid at 9:16 pm

    Hello Bro.
Thanks a lot for your time to write this important infos specially for the first time traveler like me..nag enjoy ako ng husto kababasa ng Infos para na rin akong nakarating sa lugar eh..anyway IM planning to go there by November 2017, like 2 days in Batad and 2-3 days in Sagada ask ko lang sana kung ano ang mas convenient na Route? Manila to Banaue or Manila- Baguio- Sagada – Batad…thanks sa iyong time again. God bLess.

  22. JB Macatulad at 7:53 am

You’re welcome Joel! Pinakaayoko kasi yung Baguio-Sagada leg so unless you want to visit Baguio, then I suggest skipping that. Either do Manila-Banaue-Sagada-Manila or Manila-Sagada-Banaue-Manila. Yung Sagada-Manila or Manila-Sagada leg you can do via Coda Lines para derecho na. Hope that helps.

  23. MB at 12:43 pm

Hello po Mr. JB, ask ko lang po if from Clark Airport ano po best way to Sagada? Or mas okay po ba na from Manila nalang to Sagada? Hope you can answer po. Thank you.

  24. JB Macatulad at 3:15 pm

Hi MB, sorry but I’ve never done that route so I don’t know. You may have already seen this but I did a quick Google search and found THIS THREAD. It looks like you need to make your way to Marquee Mall in Angeles City to catch a bus to Baguio first, then Sagada. Hope that helps.

  25. Jeanette Layugan at 8:21 pm

Hi JB! Your write-up is very informative, thank you. Is May a good month to visit Sagada? It will be my first time to visit the place 😊

  26. JB Macatulad at 10:33 pm

Happy you found it useful Jeanette! May should be ok. A little hot, but not too rainy yet. Enjoy! πŸ™‚

  27. JB Macatulad at 9:59 am

Hi Roie, it’s definitely possible. If you stay at one of those single rooms with shared bathroom like at S. Joseph’s Resthouse and eat modestly then you should be able to do it. Be sure to join bigger tour groups too if you can to save on the guide fees. Hope that helps and enjoy your trip. πŸ™‚
