I’ve heard a lot of good things about Chef Carlo Miguel and Black Olive Cerveceria. Looking at their extensive menu, I’m sure there are many delicious things to be had here. Regrettably, this Italian Burger isn’t one of them.

It just tasted off to me, like the components didn’t meld well together. I didn’t care for the tomato jam. I didn’t like how the patty was seasoned either. It was nice and thick with gooey mozzarella oozing out, but I didn’t like how it tasted, especially in combination with the tomato jam. Pretty much the only thing I liked about this burger was the ciabatta bun. For an additional PHP 60, I ordered a side of truffle fries that I didn’t like very much either. Its lack of truffle flavor was disappointing.

To be fair, we did enjoy several other dishes today that were delicious and deserving of the hype. But as mentioned up top, this Italian Burger just wasn’t one of them. I’d skip this entirely.
