Beef Shawarma: Meshwe’s Beef Shawarma Sandwich

Meshwe’s Beef Shawarma Sandwich

PHP 100

Beef shawarma with pickles, fries, cabbage, parsley, thinly sliced onions, and tarator sauce all wrapped in a six-inch pita bread

Meshwe makes great shawarmas, but they specialize in chicken not beef.

From the looks of it, they have just one vertical spit whch is used to cook the chicken, so they wind up frying the beef in a pan. The results aren’t quite the same. The beef tasted a little dry to me and not as tender had it been slow-cooked the traditional way on a rotisserie.

Everything else about the shawarma was great though. I especially loved the homemade pita bread. But again, chicken is king at Meshwe so I suggest ordering that instead. If this list weren’t exclusively for beef shawarmas, then I’d probably give their chicken shawarma at least a 4.5. It was really good.

Verdict: 3 / 5

Hi! Best shawarma I think I ever had is at Tri Mo Shawarma Co. at Lagro. They’ve got generous servings and yummy sauces. You should try going there too! Even mga artista dinadayo yung place, plus super worth it yung price though it may sound really pricey at P125 but I swear you won’t regret. I usually pair their sizzling shawarma with a rice or two. :))

(Oh anyway, I’m not connected with them in anyway, just a really satisfied always-hungry-being.)
